Elk Hunting Fun!

First the accommodations....

The terrain.....

Beautiful sunset.....

Finally the reason for the trip.....

Bud was first...just a half hour into the week of hunting!

Chase got his the end of day 2.

Jud got his around noon on Thursday.

Dean got his just minutes before he was going to be done on Friday. Someone on Facebook said it was the Bambi of elk. Just sayin.....

And now Bud can cross that off of his bucket list! I know he had a fantastic time.

And now maybe I won't have to spend so much time at Bass Pro!! :)

And a Good Time Was Had by All!!

We really enjoyed the time spent with Mom, Dean, Gay, and Kathy in June at the campground. I think we should make it a yearly thing. Of course there was a little food consumed along with some Dutch oven cooking!

I believe there was some cherry pie in that other Dutch oven. The next night we made rhubarb cream pie which was also yummy!

All of the kids came out to visit one night or the other.

One day Mom, Gay, and I did some quilt shop hopping. Some fabric may have come home with us!

Bud worked while Kathy and Dean drove around aimlessly.

The next day Kathy joined us for some more quilt shop hopping. We're going to turn her into a quilter yet! Some more fabric came home with us, although I donated the majority of my money to the state of Iowa at the request of the Iowa State Patrol. (B@@&ch!). Bud and Dean visited sporting goods stores. A few guns may have come home with one of them!

We sorted through family photos and reminisced. And we visited with a cousin that Dean met for the first time in his adult life.

The weather was a little wet, and the lake was closed to boating because of flooding. Next year we'll golf and boat if the weather cooperates!

Join us???

Will you join us?

6 months

Graham is 6 months old! I can't believe how fast time has gone by.
He is rolling all over, can sit up by himself for a few minutes at a time, is trying to crawl and loves to stand. He loves his vegetables, but fruit is not his thing (he gags and sometimes spits up). I have tried hiding them in some of his veggies and that has worked a few times :).
Here is a picture from his 6 month photoshoot.

Smiley Aela!

Aela is spending a little time with Nana today while big sister, Clara, takes swimming lessons.

Aela was at e doctor yesterday. She weighed 10 lbs. 3 oz. and was 21 " long. Which means at two months she is 1 oz. heavier and 1/2" shorter than her Aunt Trina was when she was born!

She really isn't as big as the picture makes her look But her smile is that big!

The Little Patient

As some of you know, Colby has been sick pretty regularly since birth. After consulting with an ENT specialist, it was decided that his adenoids needed to be removed. He had his surgery this morning. He did awesome and is resting at home. Chance has been checking on him quite a bit, he doesn't really know what is going on, but he knows Colby has been sick and this is making him better.

Texas Trip

We got home from Texas last night in time to have birthday cake with Clara, but I have no pictures. We were gone from home for a week, and if I remember correctly this is the longest we've ever stayed in Texas. Bud started off by playing farmer and moving bales with Josh. Then we headed for the lake. Bud and Dean fished. Look close and you will see the pole in Dean's hand and the string in Bud's. Sometimes you just have to shake your head.

We also went out on the pontoon. Gay took her turn driving.

Which led Graham to drink!

Bud rode the jet ski with Jud. We weren't sure he was going to come up when he jumped in the water, but he did. Apparently even with a life vest he has a hard time swimming!

We parked and swam for a while. Ruthie was in charge of everyone.

Gay was lucky enough to be tethered to two of her favorite people! She wanted to be sure neither of us floated away!

We never dried off thanks to the bratty Nessa who soaked us continually.
We went to NM to visit Roger and Helen, Susie and Greg, and Sheri.

We visited Teddy and Donna, and Corrine and Hilbert came to the lake.
We had a great time! Thanks to my Texas family!
