I thought I would update all of you on what is going on with Dale. First of all, he is still recovering from his surgery. Everyday is different, we are still finding out what he can eat and what makes him sick. He has found out that if he eats too much, he gets sick, so he eats about 6 times a day, not alot at a time, but as time goes on he will be able to eat more at one sitting. Not like he used to, but more than what he is eating now. He is maintaining his weight right now, which is good. Dale had a PET scan a few weeks ago which turned out very good. He has never liked his onocologist in Davenport, so after his surgery he decided to find a doctor at the UofI and go there. His new doctor is Dr. Berg, Dale and I both really like him. Dale had an appt. with him last Monday and he will be starting cemo this Monday. If our insurance approves it, he will take a cemo pill everyday, but it is very expensive so alot of insurance companies don't approve it. If they don't approve it, he will wear a cemo pump again (which he is not looking forward to) and will have it on for 9 weeks. The cemo drugs are some of the same cemo drugs he had before and the side effects are all the same, numbness in his hands and feet, sensitivity to cold, loss of hair, fatigue, nausea, etc. They say that Dale should not get as sick this time since he will not be having radiation at the same time as cemo. Keep you fingers crossed. After the 9 weeks of cemo, then Dale will be on observation at the UofI. They will probably do a PET scan every so often or something like that to make sure no hot spots show up. They really haven't said what it will be.
So, keep Dale in your prayers and I will post more later.
Love
Kath

When the kids were young we always spent a night during the Christmas
season to ooh and aah over Christmas lights and go out to supper. It was a
tradition...
